Aki debuted back in March of 2005 with the indie release of her mini-album, “One“; she also released her first major single, “HOME“, in September of that year as well. Since 2005, she’s compiled a formidable collection of hits, with “Tegami” being the most recent and biggest success to date.
December 26th saw Angela Aki performing at her final stop in Nippon Budokan. Aki appeared on stage with an orange T-shirt painted with a giant “5″ to commemorate the occasion. Fans were delighted with her performances of 18 songs, which included requests like “Sakurairo“.
The singer was moved to tears during the encore, as she reminisced over the past five years. “Budokan has brought me back to the origins of my dreams. I want to sing with the feeling that ‘I’m home’”.
Congratulations, Angela!
